Abstract from MLive:

HOLLAND, MI - If you have driven down I-196 by Hudsonville, you might have noticed a massive warehouse with Hutt across it.

Inside is lots of Michigan-made ice cream.

The Holland-based firm stores and transports much of the sweet stuff made by Holland-based Hudsonville Ice Cream and Ludington-based House of Flavors.

The family-owned business started out as a Holland trucking company in 1985, expanded to warehousing in 2005 and deep-frozen storage space in 2010.

Hutt recently spent $10 million to double its deep-frozen storage space, adding 81,000 square feet to its Hudsonville warehouse, at 2966 Highland Drive.

“Our customers are growing and we anticipated the need to expand in Hudsonville since acquiring the facility in 2016,” said Jim Hutt, chief executive officer of the third-party logistics company that specializes in serving the food industry.

“With our Holland-based transportation operations, Hudsonville has been a great hub for Hutt’s logistics operations. The decision to increase our deep-frozen warehousing capabilities in Hudsonville was the logical next step in our growth.”
